- "I work at the UN, live in Madhattan (Hell's Kitchen), & read, write n'speak Arabic, which I learned while serving overseas as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco (02-03).I went to school at New Paltz for a year before moving to WI to attend Northland!"

- Salaam! Ismi Michael 'Jamal'! I'm the Organizer of the NYC Arabic Language & Culture Meetup Club, & an avid fan of the art of Bellydance. Although I have a well-rounded belly, I'm not too good at shaking it - yet, but looking foward to learning to!

- What topics interest you most?

I really have a wide range and variety of interests, from Arabic music and dance to Middle Eastern cuisine, to Arabic Language and Calligraphy. So, I'm game to ANYthing. . .
- Are you a Beginner or How long have you been dancing?

I'm a pretty poor dancer (any style), but I do have a few 'belly moves'. . .But, I'm always willing to learn and try new things!
- Do you prefer Meetup in Jersey City or Hoboken?

Either/Or, for I live in Hell's Kitchen, just west of Times Square.
- Why did you join this group?

Mostly I joined to network, as I'm the Director of the NYC Arabic Language & Culture Meetup Club. Some of our interests may coincide and I thought I would join-up and come to some of your events and meet ya'all and maybe learn some new moves!

I'm happy that your club has grown into what it is today, the largest Backpacking Club on Meetup.com! As per my previous discussions with you, there are still several things from a Logistic & Safety standpoint which I think you need to work on. Remember the "7 Pee's"?.Although you rarely join in on the activities that your group offers, I hope you are thinking about Safety Action Plans and Logistics, such as our mentors at Northland taught us,as both trips I've gone on with the club were lacking in this vital component. Needless to say, I have Greatly Enjoyed meeting & hiking with everyone I've met through your dynamic & thriving club.There is always room for improvement in anything we do,so please take this as constructive feedback,which it is.What is the legality of the group?What if someone got hurt & decided to sue?Are u protected? ”
