American Tribal Style (ATS) is a group improvisational style created by Carolena Nericcio of San Francisco's world renowned FatChanceBellyDance. It is a modern, American style inspired by the dance, music, and costumes of tribal cultures from along the Silk Road. It's the foundation for many other styles of tribal belly dance.
ATS relies on a system of moves, formations, and non-verbal cues to create improvisational dances that look choreographed but are spontaneous and interactive. As you learn the system you will experience the camaraderie and exhilaration of dancing ATS!
Kate Reid is a certified ATS instructor and directs Westchester Tribal Belly Dance, a FatChanceBellyDance Sister Studio. She is a founding member of Manhattan Tribal Belly Dance, NYC's first and premier ATS troupe, directed by Mimi Fontana. Together they are dedicated to teach this beautiful dance style in its pure form as intended by Carolena Nericcio.
Kate and her dancers are available for performance events and workshops.
