Westchester/Fairfield ATS Tribal Belly Dance Meetup Group

ATS - American Tribal Style belly dance - is a dynamic, interactive style created by Carolena Nericcio of San Francisco's famous Fat Chance Belly Dance. It's the foundation for many other styles of tribal and tribal fusion belly dance.

I'm Kate Reid and I've been studying and teaching ATS for over 8 years. Last year I teamed up with Mimi Fontana in NYC to co-direct the troupe Manhattan Tribal, and with Anna Snider to form a duet called Mango Lassies here in Westchester and Fairfield counties. For links to Mimi's classes in NYC and to Manhattan Tribal, check the About Us page.

Together our goal is to bring this beautiful dance style, hugely popular on the West Coast and other parts of the US (and world!) to the NYC and tri-state area in its original form as taught by Carolena Nericcio, and it's catching on!

Join this Meetup and be part of it! Classes with Kate meet Mondays from 7:15-8:45 in Tarrytown NY. Start by learning the basics and learning zils (finger cymbals).

Stay tuned for more details, upcoming performances and discussions about ATS!
