"Zaira al Zahara and Leyla Fahada comprise this belly dance duo formed in Fall 2006. We create original choreographies and also improvise. We incorporate veil, sword, cane, zils, floorwork, percussive drum solos and taqsim movements into our work. "

What are your favorite bellydance styles and performers?

"Our dance style draws from Egyptian, American Cabaret, Tribal Fusion, Turkish, and Folkloric styles. Leyla Jouvana, Jim Boz, Yasmina Ramzy, Aziza, Suzanna del Vecchio, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Ansuya and Dina are a few of our favorite performers."
